Facebook takes another step in the arms race to take over the online world. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. A number of outlets are reporting that Facebook has acquired Friendfeed. Including TechCrunch. Friendfeed is a nifty little tool that consolidates updates from several different social networking sites. It was started by four Google alums (speaking of world domination).
At this point details on the acquisition are still very sparse, but it’s clearly a good match. Over the last year or so, Facebook has “borrowed” quite a few features that FriendFeed popularized, including the ‘Like’ feature and an emphasis on real-time news updates.
